Your responsibilities

In Q3 2025, Action Logistics Poland in connection with dynamic development in Europe as a response to the growing demand of the Action chain of stores, intends to open its 4th distribution center in Poland. DC will be located in Szczecin area.
Responding to this need, we are looking for candidates for the position of Operations Manager for the newly built facility.
The role focuses on operational management of the activities of the specific department of the DC ensuring an efficient, safe and secure process. The role of the Operations Manager is applicable in departments of the DC: Inbound and Outbound.

As an Operations Manager you will be responsible for the operational management of people and processes ensuring the highest quality and efficiency. You will manage the applicable key logistics levers and personnel costs, and you will ensure the availability of all necessary equipment and means for the department to be able to get the job done. Additionally, you will translate general logistics policies to own department, deciding on priorities, and secure compliance to labour/environment/safety legislation and regulations. You will negotiate and maintain excellent relationships with suppliers.

People Management
You will clearly steer a team, take the lead, and plan operations and activities in such a manner that targets are successfully achieved. Moreover, you will be actively involved in improving direct reports’ skills by providing constructive feedback, instructions, explanation and coaching. You will make direct reports enthusiastic, clearly indicate the intended effect of targets, bring about a positive attitude towards the work and inspire team members' strong will to perform. You will give direct and constructive feedback about the delivered performance and personal development related to future requirements and priorities. Furthermore, you will stimulate direct reports to join in on the thought process and to actively contribute to the development of new ideas and to learn from their own experiences and those of others. You will be responsible for an optimal staffing, recruitment activities and retaining of direct and indirect reports within the department.
 

Project Management
You will be the project leader in applicable projects in department.

Who You are

You make proposals for efficient and effective working methods with the least possible complexity and implements these. Additionally, you demonstrate a high level of pragmatism. You are very organised, able to structure activities and projects, stick to agreements within deadlines and according to guidelines. You work efficiently and effectively, also when under time pressure, and you work effectively with others to achieve common targets.

Furthermore you have:

  •  Educational level at Bachelor’s degree, preferable in Logistics in combination with at least 3 years of working experience in a similar job preferably in a retail/logistics environment
  •  Experience with (indirect) managing a large number of employees (more than 100 FTE)
